About Frog Aides

What is Frog Aides?

Frog Aides is Student Government’s student-led, advisor guided, leadership training program exclusively for first year students. As TCU’s premier freshman leadership program, Frog Aides links TCU’s top leaders with its best future leaders in a hands-on, student-to-student environment.

Who are Frog Aides?

Each fall, students from the incoming freshman class are selected to participate in Frog Aides.  Former Frog Aides have moved into leadership roles throughout campus, and serve in capacities such as Student Body Officers, SGA executive board members, Greek Life leaders, organization presidents and officers, Orientation Student Assistants, and Frog Camp facilitators.

What will I do in Frog Aides?

In Frog Aides, you’ll learn the “ins and outs” of TCU Student Government, get hands-on experience planning campus-wide event and implementing student programs, interact with TCU’s top student leaders and mentors, and expand your leadership skills. You won’t learn by listening, you’ll actually learn by doing, and you’ll impact the student body along the way.  Some activities include:

  • Interact and network with SGA and campus leaders.
  • Write legislation that impacts the student body and can be passed in the House of Student Representatives.
  • Work on fall projects that link you with a mentor. You may plan a canned food drive for a home football game, help oversee the fall student body elections, or write legislation to enact campus improvements such as a Frisbee golf course.
  • Learn how to plan and execute campus-wide activities such as Homecoming, Howdy Week, & Family Weekend.
  • Give back as a class by organizing, planning, and leading the Frog Aides “Big Project,” an all-student event in the spring. The good part? You have $10,000 to create any program you want!
  • The Frog Aides fall retreat and frequent socials throughout the year.
