Mountain West Leadership Summit - About TCU and Fort Worth

TCU

Founded in 1873, TCU delivers a world-class, values-centered education. Located on 268 acres just five miles from downtown Fort Worth, TCU is home to an undergraduate and graduate population of more than 8,800 students.

As a mid-size, private university, TCU offers many of the benefits found at large universities, while providing the advantage of close, mentoring relationships, a low student/faculty ratio, and countless involvement opportunities.

Fort Worth

Fort Worth, located in North Texas, is the fifth largest city in the state. A century ago, the city boomed as a livestock hub on the Chisholm trail, and this western atmosphere can still be felt today. Fort Worth embraces and boasts of being down-home, laid-back, and old-fashioned, while still sophisticated and modern.

Fort Worth is home to some of the finest museums and cultural centers in the Southwest, including the Kimbell Art Museum and the Modern Art Museum. Downtown, you will find the world-class Bass Performance Hall, called one of the top 10 opera houses in the world by Travel and Leisure magazine.

And while the TCU Horned Frogs are considered the city’s “home team,” numerous professional sports teams such as the Dallas Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars and Texas Rangers provide countless entertainment options for residents and visitors alike.
