Summit Features
The Inaugural Mountain West Student Leadership Summit is unlike many leadership conferences available to students. Rather than hiring guest speakers to teach leadership theory and principles, the Summit will focus on building relationships, understanding fellow conference schools, and sharing ways to address key issues on each campus. |
|
In recent years, TCU has invested more than $200 million in new facilities, including the Campus Commons. Once completed in August 2008, the Commons will serve as the heart of the campus– uniting the TCU community through the addition of four new residence halls and the new Brown-Lupton University Union. Other recent additions include the Mabee Foundation Education Complex, TCU Bookstore, and renovations to the Athletic Complex and Stadium.
During the Summit, delegates will tour TCU’s campus and utilize many of these new spaces. Student leaders and administrators will be on-hand throughout the Summit to answer questions about how TCU addressed issues and concerns regarding living and operating during a period of heavy construction.
Highlights of this year’s Summit include:
-
Question and answer luncheon with Craig Thompson, Commissioner of the Mountain West since its founding in 1999
-
Presentations by student leaders from conference schools regarding hot topics on their home campus
-
Roundtable sessions
-
Panel discussions with university administrators
-
Experiences in and around the TCU/Fort Worth/North Texas community
